Scotland international Stevie May has joined English Championship side Preston North End from Sheffield Wednesday.
Preston are believed to have paid an initial fee of £800,000 with a number of future add-ons.
May made 44 appearances for Wednesday last season, scoring nine goals, however, he has yet to feature for the Owls this season.
The 22-year-old forward has been pushed down the pecking order at Hillsborough by Wednesday’s 15 summer signings as the Owls desperately push for promotion back to the Premier League.
May scored 27 goals in 49 games for St Johnstone in his final season in Scotland and a number of Scottish clubs had looked to take the striker on loan this summer, however, no clubs north of the border could afford his wages.
May could partner former Hibs striker Eoin Doyle up front for Preston after the Lilywhite completed a deal to bring the Irishman in on loan.
