Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes has been named Ladbrokes Premiership manager of the month for August.
The Dons boss collected his award at Pittodrie today in recognition of his side’s 100% winning start to the campaign,
It is the fourth time McInnes has been named manager of the month at the club after taking the accolade in September 2014, February 2014 and December 2014.
McInnes’ side won all five of their league matches last month, matching the record set by Alex Ferguson’s team in season 1984-85.
Aberdeen beat Dundee United, Kilmarnock, Motherwell, Dundee and Partick Thistle to collect maximum points, scoring nine goals and conceding just one.
The Dons can set a new club record of six consecutive league victories to start a campaign if they beat champions Celtic at Pittodrie in tomorrow’s lunchtime kick-off.
