An unlikely Aberdeen hero has sprung up on the back of Aberdeen’s 2-1 win against Celtic.
Dons fan Derek Russo tried to do his bit for his club as Leigh Griffiths stepped up to take his first half penalty. The ‘big boned’ Dons fan lifted his jumper in a desperate attempt to put off the striker but his attempts were in vain as Griffiths managed to ignore his belly and fire the ball home to give Celtic a 1-0 lead.
Fortunately for Derek and the rest of the Red Army, Aberdeen fought back to secure a dramatic 2-1 victory.
Derek’s efforts may not have put off Griffiths but at least we do now have a clue as to who ate all the pies at Pittodrie.
