Rangers fans have reacted furiously to news their club will not feature in the new FIFA 2016 game.
The game’s creator, EA Sports, has confirmed that having failed to reach a licensing agreement, the Ibrox outfit will not be included in the game.
The latest version of the game, which has sold over 100million copies since its launch in 1993, is due to be released on September 22.
An EA Sports spokesman said Rangers would not be one of the almost 700 clubs included in the game and explained: “We can confirm that we did not reach a licensing agreement with Rangers and they are not in FIFA 16.
“However, newly promoted Hearts will feature in the game with the other 11 authentic clubs from the Scottish Premiership.”
Rangers fans reacted to the news by launching an online petition which over 1,000 have already signed in an attempt to convince EA Sports to change their mind.
