The adjudicatory chamber of FIFA’s ethics committee has banned former FIFA vice-president Jack Warner from taking part in any football-related activity at national and international level for life.
The news comes just days after the announcement by the Swiss attorney general that criminal proceedings have been opened against Sepp Blatter, and that a £1.3million payment to Michel Platini is also under the microscope.
Secretary general Jerome Valcke has also been suspended.
Platini and Blatter both issued statements on Monday denying any wrongdoing and insisted the payment of 2million Swiss francs was legitimate despite it coming more than nine years after the Frenchman had worked for FIFA.
