Young Airdrieonians striker Lewis Grace is set to swap New Broomfield for Estádio da Luz tomorrow when he joins Portuguese giants Benfica for a training camp.
The 14-year-old forward, who plays for the Diamonds Under-15 side, has been selected as one of 14 players from across the world to attend a month-long training camp with the club’s renowned youth academy.
The youngster told Airdrie’s official website: “I can’t wait to get started on the training field, I know I am going to learn so much there.
“It’s a big chance for me and I aim to make the most of it.”
Gracie joined Airdrie at Under-13 level and was introduced to first team training by manager Gary Bollan last week, where he was presented with a boot bag and a beach towel by striker Bryan Prunty as the players wished Gracie good luck ahead of his trip to Portugal.
