Aberdeen came from a goal behind to run out comfortable winners against Ross County at Pittodrie.
The Staggies merited their half-time lead but had no answer to a whirlwind second half showing from Derek McInnes’ side as they hit back in style to claim victory in a storming second half.
Following a subdued opening the Dons created the first chance of the match when a Jonny Hayes’ free kick ricocheted off Paul Quinn into Adam Rooney’s path but the forward fired over.
The Dons were made to pay for their missed chance almost instantly as a mix-up between Willo Flood and Mark Reynolds gifted County possession and they broke forward with Liam Boyce sending Craig Curran clear and the Staggies forward fired past Danny Ward.
Rooney and Andy Considine both missed chances to equalise immediately for the home side but it was County who took control of the first half as they stopped Aberdeen from building any momentum and the poor showing from Aberdeen was met by a chorus of boos from the unimpressed home support at half-time.
But the Dons soon turned the jeers to cheers in the second half as they hit County with two goals in a minute to turn the game in their favour.
Niall McGinn created the first with a great turn which took him away from County full back Marcus Fraser before firing the ball low across goal for Rooney to net.
With the Staggies adjusting to the loss of the equaliser the found themselves 2-1 down as Hayes’ ball from the left looped over Gary Woods’ head and into the net.
A fantastic save from Danny Ward kept out Boyce’s diving header as County pushed for an equaliser and his block proved crucial as the Dons secured the points when McGinn fired past Woods to make it 3-1.
There was still time for more late drama as Craig Storie headed a County effort off the line.
