Loan Elgin City defender Liam Gordon may have played his last game for the Borough Briggs club due to a knee injury.
Gordon joined City from St Johnstone in the summer but is due to return to his parent club next month.
The 19-year-old has played in 16 games for the Moray side, but has been sidelined since injuring his knee in the 4-2 defeat against Clyde last month and is unlikely to recover before the end of his loan.
With captain Jamie Duff out until the start of next year, manager Jim Weir has been forced to field a makeshift central defence of Mark Nicolson and Darryl McHardy.
Weir is already looking towards the January transfer window and said: “Liam is unlikely to feature for Elgin again, so I’d like to wish him a speedy recovery and thank him for his efforts with the club.
“Our captain is also out until the new year, so we are starting to look to see who is available.
“We’ll be using all our contacts to see what we can do, because we are two players down.
“Mark Nicolson can do a good job in defence, but in him and Darryl we have two players out of position.”
Injury looks to have ended Liam Gordon’s Elgin loan spell
