Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes has challenged his players to take Saturday’s dominant Dens Park showing into this weekend’s Premiership match against Hearts.
The Dons showed they are back to their best as first-half goals from Niall McGinn and Adam Rooney earned them a 2-0 victory to move within four points of leaders Celtic.
Aberdeen appear to be over their recent form slump and McInnes wants to see his side copy the example of their latest display when the third-placed Jambos roll up in the Granite City for Saturday’s early kick-off.
McInnes said: “It was a very good all-round display. I could easily name some leading performers for us.
“But we’re all in this together and now we need to pick up another three against Hearts next week.
“It’s a cracking game to look forward to and it’s one where we’ll obviously be aiming for victory.
“Having said that, it’s important we don’t get carried away, we need to knuckle down.”
