Police have called for football fans attending the match between Aberdeen and Celtic at Pittodrie tonight to stay safe – and out of trouble.
Officers have warned that excessive drinking will not be tolerated by either football club or the police.
Match commander chief inspector Nick Topping said: “We encourage fans to come and enjoy the game.
“Our message to the small minority who view football matches as an opportunity to drink to excess and misbehave is clear – their actions will not be tolerated by Police Scotland or the football clubs.
“Please remember that officers will be working closely with stewards, and supporters who come to the ground drunk will not be permitted entry into the stadium and could be arrested.
“The overwhelming majority of fans come to the match with their friends and family to enjoy the fixture, please support us in ensuring that you can do so in a safe and secure environment.”
