Ross County have taken American goalkeeper Chris Konopka on trial after Scott Fox was ruled out for two months.
Gary Woods, on loan from Leyton Orient, has become first choice at Victoria Park in Fox’s Dingwall but manager Jim McIntyre is keen to add to his options.
Thirty-year-old Konopka was most recently on the books at MLS side Toronto FC, racking up 24 appearances last season, but was released by head coach Greg Vanney at the end of the MLS campaign.
He was recently on trial with DC United – managed by former Nottingham Forrest midfielder Ben Olson – but failed to win a deal.
Konopka has also spent time with Philadelphia Union, New York Red Bulls and Kansas City Wizards but mainly as an understudy.
He has experience of playing overseas following stints with Irish outfits Bohemian, Sporting Fingal and Waterford United and holds a Polish passport and does not require a work permit.
