Enthusiastic Peterhead football fans are painting the Toon blue in advance of next weekend’s epic cup showdown with Rangers.
The Balmoor side are into the first senior cup final in their history, facing off against the Glasgow giants at Hampden on Sunday, April 10.
Excitement levels in the north-east port have reached fever pitch and shops around the town centre are emblazoned with banners, memorabilia and messages of support.
Now, the club is hosting a competition to find the best-dressed window in honour of the support.
Last night, the club’s general manager Nat Porter said: “It is fantastic to see the town getting behind the team in this way.
“There are some great details in the window displays, so I would encourage everyone to go and have a look and vote for their favourite.
“Cup final fever is starting to hit the Blue Toon and the buzz on the streets will only increase as we get closer to the match. The support we are getting is really appreciated by the team.”
It was confirmed yesterday that 46,000 tickets have been sold for the Petrofac Training Cup Final with thousands of Blue Toon fans expected to make the journey to the national stadium.
Mr Porter, a former Peterhead player, added: “April 10, 2016 will certainly go down in the club’s history, regardless of the result.
“We hope to take as big a support to Glasgow as possible and would be pleased to see football fans of all ages from all of the north-east clubs travelling with us to cheer the team on and be part of history.”
Businesses flying the flag for Peterhead FC include Begg Shoes and Bags, Justrite, The Trading Post and Zanres.
Fans can vote for their favourite at the club’s Facebook page.
And with only eight days to go until final day, tributes and messages of support for manager Jim McInally and his team are expected to pour in from all quarters.
Earlier this week, the Petrofac Cup was toured around local schools to drum up expectation, and former X-Factor contestant Wagner released a video jingle backing the boys in blue.
