Arsenal have this morning been linked with a move to sign Celtic midfielder Tom Rogic.
Reports in Australia suggest that Arsenal are looking to snap up the 23-year-old this summer.
Rogic joined Celtic in January 2013 but a series of ankle and groin injuries and competition from established internationals Kris Commons and Stefan Johansen limited the Aussie’s opportunities in the Parkhead first team.
The following January Rogic returned to Australia to join Melbourne Victory on loan but this season he has established himself as a key player for the Hoops, netting nine goals in 37 games to become Celtic’s second top scorer this campaign.
Reading boss Brian McDermott tried to sign the midfielder for the Championship club in January 2013 before recommending him to Arsene Wenger during his spell as chief scout for the North London club.
Arsenal are believed to have been monitoring Rogic ever since and are now expected to follow that interest up by lodging a bid this summer.
With Rogic’s Celtic contract due to expire at the end of next season, the Parkhead club could be tempted to cash in on their Socceroo this summer.
