Celtic are locked in talks with Liverpool over a possible £3million move for defender Andre Wisdom.
The versatile defender, who can play in either full back role or in the heart of the defence, spent last season on loan at Norwich and Reds manager Jurgen Klopp is willing to let him leave on a permanent deal this summer.
Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers gave Wisdom his Liverpool debut in 2012, in a Europa League match against Young Boys, and the England youth international went on to make 22 appearances for the Reds.
During his loan spell with Norwich last season, Wisdom only made 14 appearances, while he has also previously spent time on loan at West Brom and Norwich.
Wisdom’s versatility means he could offer cover for Mikael Lustig at right back, while also offering competition for Jozo Simunovic, Erik Sviatchenko, Efe Ambrose and Dedryck Boyata – all of whom have struggled with injury problems in the last 12 months – at centre half.
The Hoops were also linked with a move for Liverpool defender Joe Gomez but Klopp has reportedly turned down those advances.
