Richie Foran has made his first signing as Caley Thistle manager after agreeing a three-year contract with forward Scott Boden.
The 26-year-old scored 13 goals in 45 appearances for English League 2 side Newport County last season but was available on a free transfer after turning down a contract extension.
Boden has signed a pre-contract agreement with Caley Thistle until 2019 with the club holding an option on the third year.
Foran was pleased to bolster his attack after the club failed to sign Swindon Town attacker Miles Storey after his loan with the forward instead joining Aberdeen.
Foran said: “Scott will be a great addition. He plays in a position which we were keen to fill and will fit right in both as a player and with his personality.”
Former Caley Thistle manager Terry Butcher signed Boden for the Welsh club from Halifax Town in July 2015.
Boden began his career with Sheffield United but left the Blades without making a top-team appearance after a short spell in Finnish football with IFK Mariehamn.
He spent five years with Chesterfield before spells at Macclesfield and Halifax Town and said: “I’m happy to have got everything over the line. I’ve had a look around Inverness and it’s lovely. You only have to speak to a few people as well to realise the people match the place. I look forward to living and playing here.”
Released former Caley Thistle goalkeeper Dean Brill could be set to join Motherwell.
