Rangers have completed the signing of Croatian midfielder Niko Kranjcar on a two year deal.
The former Portstmouth, Tottenham and QPR man becomes Rangers’ sixth signing of the summer, following Joey Barton, Clint Hill, Jordan Rossiter, Matt Crooks and Josh Windass.
Gers boss Mark Warburton told the club’s official website: “We are delighted to secure a player of Niko’s undoubted qualities and very much look forward to welcoming him to the club.
“Such a signing shows our desire to achieve a positive balance between young, hungry players and the undoubted necessity of experience and maturity.
“In addition, I would like to thank the Cosmos for the highly professional manner in which they have conducted their business throughout this process. It has been a pleasure to deal with them.”
Warburton is also hoping to complete another signing this week, while he remains hopeful of further additions later in the summer. Reflecting on his summer transfer dealings to date, he said they have been “Very good so far, in early, and hopefully one or two more this week and that will just leave the one or two possibly slightly later.
Talks remain ongoing between the Ibrox club and defender Adrian Mariappa.
