Fletcher left his previous club Sunderland at the end of last season after a spell on loan with Ligue 1 side Marseille. He scored 23 goals in 108 appearances for the club following a £12m move from Wolves in August 2012. He scored a single goal for the French club, taking his tally for the entire campaign to five (plus four for Scotland). Fletcher came through the youth set up with Hibs before moving down south. He was rumoured to have been offered £30,000 a week to join Norwich City earlier this week. He was also linked with a move to Celtic.
