The English transfer window has finally opened and as always, the completion of a number of big money deals has quickly followed.
There’s wonderkids and wily veterans all eyeing up pastures new and more than a few trying to cling on for dear life. With record transfer spending being predicted by the bookies, just who will end up where?

- Former Celtic striker Scott McDonald has signed a new contract with Motherwell. He had been linked with a move to Hibs to link up with former coach Neil Lennon (Sky Sports)
- Celtic have signed 17-year-old striker PJ Crossan from Dunfermline Athletic for a development fee of around £130,000. (The Scotsman)
- Southampton have signed 16-year-old defender Kieran Freeman from Dundee United for a five-figure sum as former Scotland striker Eric Black was named assistant at the English Premier League club (Herald)

- Zlatan Ibrahimovic is currently undergoing a medical at Old Trafford ahead of a proposed move to Manchester United. Zlatan had been rumoured to join a number of Europe’s top clubs this summer (Daily Mirror)
- Scotland winger Matt Ritchie has signed for Newcastle United in a £10million deal from Bournemouth (Daily Record)
