Today may have been light on signed contracts but there has been no shortage of rumours and bizarre transfer news.
From superstar Brazilians to a European Championship talisman, the SPFL attracts some pretty exciting names – although not all of them actually end up making the big move.

- Dons target Khalid Aucho has revealed he will travel to the north-east this week to take part in a two-week trial with the Pittodrie side. The former Gor Mahia midfielder has been a target for a number of clubs, including recently-promoted side Rangers.
- Charlie Mulgrew looks like he’s on his way out of Celtic Park. He’s wanted by Sheffield Wednesday, and Brendan Rodgers insists no new deal has been offered. (Daily Record)

- Stuart Findlay has set his sights on winning a place in Rafa Benitez’s first team at Newcastle United after the 20-year-old central defender signed following his summer release by Celtic. (Daily Record)
- Ivory Coast striker Souleymane Coulibaly believes that he and Josh Magennis can transform Kilmarnock into a top-six Premiership side this new season after scoring on his debut. (The Scotsman)
- Ross County are on the lookout for a new midfielder after selling Jackson Irvine to Burton Albion. Jim McIntyre admits he needs to add to his squad. (Press and Journal)

- Leicester’s Riyad Mahrez is a wanted man … but not by Barcelona. The Spanish club have been linked with the Algerian but they say they aren’t interested. (Daily Star)
- Marcos Rojo is unlikely to be at Manchester United much longer and Villareal are eyeing up a loan move for the defender. The Argentine joined United two years ago but has struggled to make much of an impact. (Daily Mirror)
- James Rodriguez is being allowed to leave Real Madrid and he’s wanted by West Ham. But he’ll cost a tasty £67m if they do manage to sign him. (Marca)

And Finally…
Ronaldo to Rangers? It almost happened. No, really! Rangers were in for the Brazillian star in 1997 when he was looking to leave Barcelona.
The Ibrox side were willing to offer a staggering £20million to land the Samba superstar and were prepared to table a massive contract that would only require him to play in Champions League games.
In the end, Inter were first to match his release clause and were the ones to bring him in. What a shame.
