Rangers manager Mark Warburton has been charged with using offensive, abusing and insulting language towards match officials following his side’s 2-1 defeat by Aberdeen at Pittodrie.
The Englishman has been issued a notice of complaint by the Scottish FA and offered a one match ban.
Rangers have until Monday to respond to the complaint with a disciplinary hearing scheduled for Thursday, October 13.
The Scottish FA accused Warburton of breaching disciplinary rule 203: “In that immediately following the conclusion of the above match you did commit misconduct in that you entered the field of play and repeatedly used offensive, abusing and insulting language towards match officials.”
Warburton was angered by referee John Beaton’s decision to award a free kick for a foul on Aberdeen midfielder Jonny Hayes by James Tavernier, which resulted in James Maddison’s winning goal.
