Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes has been tipped as a shock contender for the vacant Queen’s Park Rangers job.
McInnes has achieved great success during his time at Pittodrie, including one League Cup win and a runners-up spot last season in the Scottish Premiership.
QPR have reportedly not yet spoken to McInnes or approached Aberdeen for permission to make a move but the Dons boss’ previous experience in England at Bristol City could prove a factor.
Former QPR boss Ian Holloway remains the bookies favourite to return to Loftus Road but the three-man panel charged with replacing former boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink are believed to have added the Aberdeen boss to their shortlist of suitable candidates.
However with the London-based side currently sitting in 17th place in the English Championship and with a Scottish League Cup Final in the offing later this month, it remains to be seen whether McInnes would be tempted by the job.
The Press and Journal revealed last month how the bookies had tipped the 45-year-old to be the next Scotland manager if Gordon Stachan steps down from the role.
