Dons boss Derek McInnes admitted today that there has been contact from Championship side Cardiff City over star man Jonny Hayes.
McInnes, who is currently leading his side at a training camp in Dubai, said Bluebirds boss Neil Warnock had reached out to him about a potential deal but denied that a bid had been tabled.
Earlier in the week rumours emerged that Cardiff City had approached the club with a £500,000 offer but the Press and Journal revealed today that this was not the case.
The Dons manager is understood to keen to hang on to Hayes and reiterated his determination to keep him at Pittodrie.
He told the Evening Express: “There has not been a bid.
“Obviously it has been documented that a bid is anticipated.
“I spoke to Neil Warnock last week and he asked about Jonny’s availability.
“I told him that Jonny is a key player for us and we don’t want to lose, or sell any of our key players in January.”
