Dons star Peter Pawlett could be set for a move south of the border after reports emerged that he will agree to sign a pre-contract agreement with MK Dons.
The 26-year-old’s deal at Pittodrie runs out in the summer and he had been in talks to extent his stay in the Granite City.
However, despite Pawlett finding minutes hard to come by under boss Derek McInnes, a number of clubs have been credited with an interest in the player.
Bolton, Burton Albion and QPR have all been linked and Hibernian boss Neil Lennon is reported to be a fan of the former Scotland Under-21 star.
But it looks as if former Hearts boss Robbie Neilson has won the battle to secure Pawlett’s signature with a national newspaper reporting today that the Pittodrie youth graduate is keen on a move to Stadium mk.
Speaking to the Evening Express today, Pawlett said: “I want to get things sorted for myself and my family – whether that is here, or away from here.
“This is a strong team but hopefully I can keep my place in it.”
Aberdeen have managed to tie up Andy Considine, Graeme Shinnie and Jonny Hayes on fresh deals until the summer of 2019.
But doubts still surround the futures of Ash Taylor, Niall McGinn and club captain Ryan Jack – who would all be free to walk away as free agents at the end of the season.
