Aberdeen will face either Rangers or Celtic after making it through to the their first Scottish Cup final in 17 years.
The Dons were two-nil up in the first half through a cheeky goal just 12-seconds in from Adam Rooney and a fortunate headed effort from Ryan Christie on the 25-minute mark.
Hibs were able to draw one back after bringing on Grant Holt in place of former Dons youngster Fraser Fyvie.
He was able to make an instant impact before Dylan McGeouch drew the sides level on the hour mark.
A nervy second-half looked almost certain to lead into extra time but it was a bizarre own goal from Darren McGregor, deflected off a shot by Jonny Hayes, that sent Aberdeen through to the final.
