Former Hibernian attacker Tam McManus has urged Aberdeen captain Ryan Jack to take the chance of a move to America with Columbus Crew.
Jack is out of contract with the Dons this summer and has been linked with a move to the MLS franchise as well as reported interest from Rangers and clubs south of the border.
McManus spent some time with Colorado Rapids and reckons a potential move would be a great opportunity to join an emerging league.
McManus said: “I would advise him to jump at it, fantastic move to a league getting better and better.”
The Dons had been hoping to secure the midfielder on a new deal but an offer from Columbus could convince Jack to move to America. Both the MLS side and Aberdeen have declined to comment.
Rangers have been credited with an interest in Jack but it appears Columbus have won the race for the player’s signature on a free transfer. Crew SC have enjoyed a good start to the MLS season, currently sitting in second place in the Eastern Conference.
The MLS transfer window closes on May 8, but Columbus can sign a free transfer like Jack past the close of the window as long as he is out of contract.
