Gordon Strachan has today announced his squad to face England – and has finally bowed to pressure to return to his former club for inspiration.
Dons midfielder Kenny McLean and former club captain Mark Reynolds will both be in the squad for the World Cup qualifiers clash against England on June 10.
It follows a drought for Aberdeen players which has seen them left out of a number of Strachan’s sides, despite finishing second in the league and reaching two cup finals.
Former Aberdeen players Charlie Mulgrew and Ryan Fraser also make the cut.
Meanwhile, Brighton’s Jamie Murphy and Hearts’ Jack Hamilton have also been called up to the squad.
The Group F World Cup qualifying match will kick-off at 5pm on June 10 at Hampden Park.
Lithuania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Malta make up the remainder of the group.
