Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has been linked with a shock move for one of the Dons’ biggest stars.
The treble-winning boss is understood to be considering a shock move for winger Jonny Hayes after being impressed with his performances this season.
The 29-year-old Irishman previously worked with Rodgers as a teenager at Reading and has scored in his last two appearances against Celtic.
However, Hayes signed an extension to his current contract just five months ago and is currently tied up until 2019.
That means Rodgers would have to stump up some significant cash for Hayes – and the Dons rejected a £500,000 for the player as recently as June.
If Hayes does make the move to Glasgow, loan star Ryan Christie or Gary Mackay-Steven could potentially be used to push the deal through.
Christie had a stand out season in the Granite City and may be open to a move north, while Mackay-Steven has struggled to tie down a regular first team role under Rodgers.
