Former Aberdeen and Caley Thistle defender Kevin McNaughton has announced his retirement from football at the age of 34.
McNaughton, who left Inverness at the end of last season, turned out for the Dons in their 3-0 friendly win against St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park last weekend, having been allowed to train with the Reds by manager Derek McInnes in order to maintain his fitness.
The four-times Scotland defender began his career at Pittodrie, making 202 appearances for the Dons prior to joining Cardiff City in 2006.
In a social media post, Dundee-born McNaughton said: “Have decided to call time on my playing career, have loved every minute of it . Looking forward to spending a bit of time with the family and then start look for a new challenge to sink my teeth into.”
