Aberdeen defender Shay Logan last night handed the club a pre-Europa League boost when he signed a contract extension to keep him at the club until 2020.
Logan, who arrived at the club in January 2014 on loan from Brentford being making the move permanent, was entering into the final season of his current deal but was quick to commit his future to the club when a new offer was made.
The 29 year-old, who has scored 13 goals for the Dons, said: “The reason I am staying is because of the way I have been treated by the club and the fans during the three and a half years I have been here.
“I have been looked after very well. I am happy to be here so the new deal was very welcome and I got everything I wanted. I am glad the club and the manager have faith in me and that they want me to stick around.”
Dons manager Derek McInnes is delighted Logan, who has been the established first choice full back at the club since his arrival, was so quick to commit his future to the club for a further two seasons.
He said: “It’s clear how much he enjoys it here at Pittodrie and how much affection he has for the supporters. I’m sure the fans would join me in applauding the commitment he has shown.”
