However, the club say Fyvie has only been allowed to participate to maintain his fitness and will not being joining the team. The midfielder is a free agent after leaving Hibernian at the end of the season due to being unable to agree terms. The 24-year-old had been linked with a move to Dundee United and reports suggested the former Wigan man has agreed to join the club pending a medical. Dons boss Derek McInnes is understood to be racing to sign up new faces at Pittodrie following the departure of a number of key players. The club are able to register one more player for tomorrow’s crucial tie before 11pm this evening. Fyvie left Aberdeen in 2012 for an undisclosed fee believed to be around £500,000 but experienced mixed results after moving south. He returned to the Scottish game in 2015, linking up with Hibernian to make 54 appearances.
