Aberdeen were held to a 1-1 draw by Kilmarnock following a frustrating afternoon at Pittodrie.
Chances were at a premium in a poor game as the Dons let an early lead slip against Killie.
Derek McInnes made three changes to the side which dropped points for the first time this season in the goalless draw at Hearts last weekend.
Dominic Ball, Adam Rooney and Ryan Christie all dropped to the bench from the starting line-up which dropped two points at Tynecastle with Kari Arnason coming in for just his second start of the season in defence.
Nicky Maynard and Greg Stewart also came into the starting 11.
Killie arrived at Pittodrie on a poor run and it took the Dons only 10 minutes to take advantage when captain
Graeme Shinnie’s low ball across goal was met by Stevie May who fired the ball into the net to make it 1-0 to the home side.
Killie came back into the game and Joe Lewis made a fine save to keep out Rory McKenzie’s shot from the edge of the box but the visitors deservedly equalised three minutes into the second half when midfielder Jordan Jones beat Joe Lewis with a curling dipping effort from just inside the penalty area.
Lewis tipped a deflected corner on to the crossbar as Killie threatened to score a second before Aberdeen rallied in the final 20 minutes but May’s free kick, which was tipped over the crossbar by Jamie MacDonald, was the closest the dons game to scoring a winner.
