Aberdeen goalkeeper Joe Lewis has no doubt Kenny McLean will be fully committed to the Dons cause, despite rejecting a new deal.
The former St Mirren midfielder has confirmed he will move on from Pittodrie at the end of the season when his current deal expires.
But the 25-year-old, a summer transfer target for Rangers, impressed during Saturday’s 2-1 victory against Ross County and was called up to Malky Mackay’s Scotland squad for next week’s friendly against the Netherlands at Pittodrie.
However Lewis is confident McLean will continue to produce a high level of performance for the Dons throughout the remainder of the season.
He said: “Kenny is a professional footballer, who works very hard in training.
“He gives 100 per cent and I’m sure he will do that every time he pulls on the red shirt.
“Players like Ryan Jack and Niall McGinn showed those performances in similar situations last season and that is a credit to their professionalism.
“Kenny is no different.
“Regardless of what happens at the end of the season, he will give 100 per cent while he is with Aberdeen.”
