Aberdeen midfielder Gary Mackay-Steven says the Dons have been unaffected by the speculation linking manager Derek McInnes with Rangers.
The Reds are three points adrift of Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic after being held to a 2-2 draw by Hamilton Accies at New Douglas Park on Saturday.
Mackay-Steven remains hopeful that McInnes will remain at Pittodrie, despite the 46-year-old being heavily touted as a replacement for the recently sacked Pedro Caixinha.
He said: “I don’t think the talk has had an impact at all. As far as the dressing-room is concerned, it’s all speculation.
“Until someone tells us otherwise, we’ll go about our business as usual.
“We want him to stay. I think I speak for all the boys when I say that.
“You look at what he’s done for Aberdeen. He’s a great manager.
“He’s been great with me and I am delighted to be working under him right now. I think everyone feels the same. He’s done a great job here.
“He’s a great motivator, a winner.
“His record has shown it over the last few years and the players all want to work for him.
“I disagree that he’s taken Aberdeen as far as he can. As well as the job he’s done, there’s always the next season. As a player you always want to either replicate success or do even better and he’ll think the same as a manager.
“He continues to do a great job and he’s in a great place right now.”
Mackay-Steven accepted Martin Canning’s Accies deserved a draw following an action-packed encounter at Hamilton.
He added: “A point was probably a fair result. Hamilton played quite well but going ahead in the second half we were disappointed to lose a goal so soon after.
“Overall, Hamilton were probably worthy of their point.
“It’s frustrating. We all went in feeling like it was a defeat because of the way it panned out.
“We worked hard to get in front, so it was disappointing.
“It’s different playing on the astro when you are used to grass. The ball bounces differently but that’s not an excuse.
“Hamilton do what they do really well. They fight for second balls, they are aggressive and they create chances. It’s a difficult place to go.”
