Aberdeen returned to second place in the Scottish Premiership with a 1-0 victory against Dundee at Dens Park.

Dons captain Shinnie should have ended the game as a contest with eight minutes remaining when he raced onto a through-ball from Rooney but the former Caley Thistle’s effort was weak and easily gathered by Parish.
Shinnie turned provider to set up Shay Logan soon after as the Dons continued to find space on the counter-attack but the Dons right back fluffed his lines and fired into the side-netting.
