Motherwell boss Stephen Robinson has stressed that highly-rated midfielder Chris Cadden will not be sold on the cheap.
Reports claim that Aberdeen are weighing up a move for the 21-year-old, who still has 18 months left on his Fir Park contract.
The Pittodrie club sold Kenny McLean to Norwich on Monday for a reported fee of £200,000 with the midfielder returning on loan to the Dons until the end of the season.
Motherwell rejected a £100,000 bid from Hearts for Scotland under-21 player Cadden last summer and it was reported that the Steelmen also knocked back an offer of around £400,000 from Oxford United in the last window.
Ahead of the visit of Ross County tonight, Robinson said: “Nobody has contacted me or the club, it is all hearsay.
“I am not surprised people are interested in Chris, he is a top talent and one of the best young players in Scotland, for me.
“But we have a valuation of him and we have not been in touch with anybody yet. He certainly won’t be sold for anything under our valuation.
“For a while I think people thought they could get our players on the cheap and that is not going to happen. The board are putting me under no pressure to sell players.
“We have already brought money into the club through the Betfred Cup final and player sales this year. We did brilliant business with Louis Moult with only a few months left on his contract.”
