Aberdeen have signed Hamilton Accies midfielder Lewis Ferguson on a pre-contract agreement.
The Dons made the announcement shortly before this afternoon’s Premiership tie against Hibernian, announcing the capture of the promising 18-year-old in the summer when his contract expires.
With Kenny McLean departing in the summer, manager Derek McInnes is in the market to strengthen his midfield and Ferguson’s addition will see him push fellow youngsters Frank Ross and Dean Campbell for first-team action.
McInnes said: “Lewis is a promising young player who I look forward to working with and developing here at Pittodrie.”
Ferguson has made 14 senior appearances for Accies and joins former team-mate Mikey Devlin at Pittodrie. He is the nephew of former Rangers captain Barry Ferguson and son of Derek Ferguson.
