Aberdeen’s appeal against the red card shown to defender Shay Logan against Celtic has been dismissed.
The 30-year-old was sent off by Craig Thomson after the full-time whistle in Aberdeen’s 1-0 win at Celtic Park that secured second spot in the Scottish Premiership.
Footage on social media showed Logan pushing Celtic defender Mikael Lustig away by the throat.
Logan will now serve a two match ban at the start of the 2018-19 season through suspension.
The defender was already due to miss the opening game after going over the booking points threshold so won’t be able to feature for the Dons until their fourth league match next term.
