Aberdeen have completed the loan signing of utility player Dominic Ball on a season-long loan from Rotherham United.
The midfielder, who can also play in defence, established himself in the Dons starting 11 in the post-split matches last season and manager Derek McInnes is delighted to have the Englishman back on board.
He said: “I’m delighted to welcome Dom back. He showed exactly what he is capable of in the latter part of the league campaign when he played a vital role in our post-split matches during which we were undefeated.”
Ball faces a challenging start to the new campaign with his team-mates with the Europa League tie against Burnley just a week away followed by the visit of Rangers to Pittodrie on the opening day of the campaign, but the new Don is looking forward to the new season with confidence.
He said: “Burnley play in the Premiership and it is going to be a tough challenge but we will try to get the win.
“The first three games are tough but there will be tough games all season and if we can get out there flying it can set us up for the season.
“It is important we still have the core of the team which won those games to secure second place and we know what is required.”
