For any young footballer, your first goal in senior football will be a memorable occasion regardless of the circumstances.
Even if it’s a consolation tap-in in stoppage time, it still means a lot to get that monkey off your back.
For Aberdeen midfielder Lewis Ferguson, however, his first goal as a professional will be memorable for a whole number of reasons.
And not just to him either. The 18-year-old’s audacious overhead kick brought the Dons level in last night’s Europa League second qualifying round second leg tie with Burnley and had Aberdeen fans dreaming of knocking out their rich English opponents.
This is special. This is unbelievable!

Ultimately, two late goals in extra time saw the Clarets through but Ferguson’s strike will live long in the memory.
It certainly captured people’s imagination on social media. Especially since Aberdeen are yet to agree a fee with Hamilton for the youngster’s services.
Hamilton are going to be asking for an extra £7million for Lewis Ferguson at his tribunal after that goal.
And then lose it to a phone scam 7 weeks later.
