Aberdeen winger Gary Mackay-Steven has rejoined his team-mates at the club’s team hotel after being released from hospital following his head knock in the Betfred Cup final.
Mackay-Steven was knocked unconscious following a clash of heads with Celtic defender Dedryck Boyata at Hampden on Sunday.
Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes said Mackay-Steven was recovering well following the sickening collision at the National Stadium and the club has today confirmed the player was given the all-clear on Sunday night and released from hospital so that he could rejoin his team-mates.
McInnes has ruled the player out of Wednesday’s trip to Ibrox to face Rangers but hopes Mackay-Steven could be fit to face St Johnstone at Pittodrie on Saturday.
