Aberdeen captain Graeme Shinnie has been linked with a move to English football following reports this morning he is set to join Wigan Athletic.
The Sun is reporting the Dons skipper is close to joining Wigan on a pre-contract agreement.
The Championship club lead the race for the 27 year-old who has also been attracting interest from Hull and Brentford while former St Mirren manager Jack Ross, now in charge of Sunderland in League One, has also been keeping tabs on the Scotland international midfielder.
Dons boss Derek McInnes will be disappointed if Shinnie does leave Pittodrie in the summer but the Aberdeen manager is focused on strengthening his squad this month before the transfer window closes and is considering making a move for Huddersfield Town left back Jaden Brown.
The 19 year-old recently joined Huddersfield from Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur but the Dons have been linked with a move for the teenager as they seek a replacement for Max Lowe, who was recalled by Championship side Derby County.
