Aberdeen will take on RoPS Rovaniemi of Finland in the UEFA Europa League first qualifying round following today’s draw in Nyon, Switzerland.
The Dons, who qualified after finishing fourth in the Scottish Premiership last season, face four qualifying rounds as they bid to reach the group stages of the competition for the first time under Derek McInnes.
The Dons are due to be at home for the first leg which is scheduled for Thursday, July 11 with the return leg taking place a week later on Thursday, July 18. UEFA will confirm the fixtures later today.
Rangers, who finished runners-up in the Premiership, will play the winners of the preliminary round tie between Prishtina of Kosovo and St Joseph’s of Gibraltar.
Kilmarnock, who pipped the Dons to third place on goal difference, have been drawn against Welsh club Connah’s Quay Nomads.
Connah’s reached the Irn-Bru Cup final last season before losing to Ross County and are due to play Aberdeen in their pre-season training camp in Cork next week.
The second qualifying round draw will be made tomorrow.
