Aberdeen could face Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven or German Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt when the draw for the third qualifying round of the Europa League is made tomorrow.
The Dons are among the unseeded teams for the third round draw, which will be made at 1pm, and the list of seeded teams lying in wait in Group 4 contains some well-known names.
PSV Eindhoven or FC Basel of Switzerland will be one team while the winners of the tie between FK Partizan of Serbia and Kilmarnock’s conquerors Connah’s Quay Nomads are another.
The third seeded team will be the winners of the Eintracht Frankfurt or Flora Tallinn tie and the tie between Vitoria SC of Portugal and Jeunesse Esch of Luxembourg.
The only seeded team definitely in the third round is HNK Rijeka of Croatia, who the Dons beat in the competition in 2015.
Rangers, who face Progres Niederkorn of Luxembourgh in the second round, have been named among the unseeded teams in Group 3 and will face one of the nine following teams: Wolves (England), Crusaders (Northern Ireland), Legia Warsaw (Poland), KuPS Kuopio (Finland), Gent (Belgium), Viitorul (Romania), Midtjylland (Denmark), AZ Alkmaar (Netherlands) or Hacken (Sweden).
