Aberdeen striker Stevie May has secured a return to St Johnstone after having his contract with the Dons cancelled.
The 26 year-old, a Scottish Cup winner with Saints in 2014, joined Aberdeen two years ago from Preston North End but has struggled to command a regular place in Derek McInnes’ starting line-up at Pittodrie.
Dons boss McInnes said: “Stevie worked extremely hard and gave everything in his time with us. I wish him well in his next opportunity.”
Talks between St Johnstone and May broke down twice this month but following his departure from Aberdeen the forward has finally agreed a return to Perth and has signed a two-year deal.
