Inverurie Locos beat Aberdeen on penalties in a thrilling Shire Shield quarter-final at Harlaw Park.
Locos will face Huntly or Turriff United away from home in the semi-final.
The Dons had first-team players Ash Taylor, Bruce Anderson and Ethan Ross in their starting line-up.
Defender Taylor was making his comeback having been out with a hamstring injury sustained against Georgian side Chikhura Sachkhere in the Europa League qualifying second round on July 25.
The 29-year-old quickly settled into the game with the Reds dominating possession in the early stages.
Yet for all Aberdeen’s possession Inverurie had the first meaningful effort when Neil Gauld connected with Andy Hunter’s cross from the right wing, but goalkeeper Sam Jackson gathered the header at the second attempt.
Locos took the lead in the 21st minute when Calum Dingwall lashed a sublime left-footed shot into the top left corner from 30 yards.
The Dons struggled to create an opening in the first period, with Inverurie’s defence limiting chances for strikers Anderson and Michael Ruth.
Locos were 2-0 up four minutes from half-time. Keeper Andy Reid’s long clearance was flicked on by Gauld for Stott, who raced through and fired under Jackson into the net.
A minute before the interval Inverurie were reduced to 10 men when referee Dan McFarlane brandished a straight red card to Hunter, who caught Ethan Ross in a tackle.
Despite having a man fewer, committed defending from Locos meant they kept the Dons at bay until 70 minutes.
After a period of Aberdeen pressure Anderson stabbed home from the edge of the box.
Two minutes later sub David Dangana raced through, but Reid made a smothering save at his feet and the striker’s second attempt was deflected wide.
But with 15 minutes left the Dons did equalise when sub Kevin Hanratty’s cross from the left was tapped home by Dangana.
There was no further scoring and penalties were required to decide the tie.
Neil McLean, Jonny Smith, Dingwall, Jamie Michie and Ryan Broadhurst all scored for Inverurie with Hanratty blazing over the bar for the Dons which meant, despite Anderson, Ruth, Connor Barron and Ethan Ross scoring, Locos progressed.
