Aberdeen midfielder Jonny Hayes insists concentration will be key to his club’s hopes of securing a trip to Real Sociedad.
The Dons face the Dutch side in their Europa League qualifier tomorrow with a third round tie against the Spanish side awaiting the winners.
The Dutch side believe they are favourites to progress following the goalless draw in the first leg at Pittodrie but Hayes, who is expected to continue playing as left back in the Netherlands, believes Aberdeen can shock their opponents and go through.
He said: “We have learned a lot about Dutch sides from playing FC Twente in pre-season last year.
“They had the majority of the ball and it was very similar to when you play Celtic.
“We learned how to play when we don’t have much of the ball and that will obviously help us again. It’s not how much of the ball you have it’s what you do with it which matters.
“We will have to concentrate for long spells and make sure when we do get on the ball we make the most of our opportunities.”
