Aberdeen forward Declan McManus has joined League One side Morton on loan until January.
The 20-year-old, who enjoyed a similar spell at Alloa Athletic last season, goes straight into the squad for tomorrow’s league opener against Ayr United and manager Derek McInnes believes the youngster will return to Pittodrie a better player.
“We’ve seen previously how a loan spell can bring a player on in leaps and bounds and, with Morton being a full time club, I’m sure this will be an important part of Declan’s development.
“Danny Rogers joined Dumbarton on loan last week and it’s likely another one or two will go out on loan before the end of the month to gain experience of first team football.”
