The 22-year-old, who has been capped by Republic of Ireland at under-21 level, has made only one appearance for the Dons this season. The Irishman has previously spent time on loan at Forfar Athletic. Shaughnessy is contracted at Aberdeen until June 2015, having signed a two-year extension in December 2012.
