Aberdeen Women co-manager Gavin Beith says his side will be out to rectify past results when they travel to Glasgow City tonight for their penultimate SWPL 1 fixture.
The Dons have been on the receiving end of two heavy defeats against Glasgow City this season, with the last meeting in March being a 10-1 rout at Petershill Park.
That fixture was also a Wednesday night clash, and Beith hopes his side will put in a better display and prove their last evening in Glasgow was a ‘freak’ result.
“We’re still hurting from the last time we went down there,” Beith said.
“There’s not any disgrace from losing against a team like Glasgow City, but there is an embarrassment in conceding 10.
“I’m going to go out on a limb and say that won’t happen again. It’s about going down there now and bouncing back from that game.
“We need to make sure we stay in the game more and show more resilience than we did that night in March.
“Hopefully we can go there and right some wrongs.”

Aberdeen have proven they can compete against SWPL 1’s professional teams, but have not been able to secure a result against the top three: Rangers, Glasgow City, or Celtic.
And tonight’s game against Eileen Gleeson’s side will be the final opportunity for the Dons to achieve such a result this term.
Beith added: “Our objectives were to be more competitive against the top teams.
“We’ve managed to get a win against Hibs this season, so how do we do it against the top three?
“It’s another opportunity to go and try to do that.”
SWPL 1 champions no more
After winning the SWPL 1 title 14 years in a row, Glasgow City’s reign finally came to an end as Rangers lifted the league trophy last weekend, with one game to spare.
As a result, Beith is unsure of what kind of Glasgow City side they will face on Wednedsay night, but it is certain that – no matter what – it will be a strong one.
“It’ll be interesting to see how they come out after losing the league,” the Dons co-boss said.
“We might get a fired up reaction or a bit of a hangover from it – we’ll be prepared for both.
“They have a cup final to prepare for as well, so they’ll be thinking of that, and it could be an opportunity for them to wipe Sunday from their memory and go strong again.
“They’ve got strength in depth. They could make five or six changes to their squad and still be capable of making life really difficult for us.”
Notable absentees against City
Aberdeen could be without two key players for the midweek clash, as Loren Campbell and Chloe Gover are currently carrying injuries.
Campbell, who has a broken finger, was left out for Sunday’s game at Hibs, meanwhile, Gover came off with a thigh injury during that 4-1 defeat.
Co-boss Beith says both injuries will be assessed, but Wednesday night might come too soon for both players.
He said: “We’re almost planning to go without Chloe – at best she might get on the bench.
“But we might just leave her out so she can recover ahead of Motherwell at the weekend, which is a big game.
“With Loren, we’re unsure how bad the break is. She’s going to see a specialist which will give us a clearer indication.
“She’s willing to play, but we need to be sensible and cautious about it.”
