Aberdeen and Liverpool have agreed a fee for right back Calvin Ramsay.
The Scotland under-21 international has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield.
The Press and Journal understands the Reds will pay an inital fee of £4.5million for the defender.
They have also agreed up to £3.5million in appearance-related add-ons should Ramsay hit certain milestones at Liverpool.
It is also understood the Dons have agreed a 20% sell-on clause.
Following the signings of Darwin Nunez, for a potential club-record transfer fee of £85m, and Fulham 19-year-old Fabio Carvalho, Ramsay is expected to be Liverpool’s last arrival this summer.
Anfield boss Jurgen Klopp views Ramsay as an understudy to English international right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The fee would be a club record for the Dons, surpassing the £3m received when Scotland international Scott McKenna joined Nottingham Forest in 2020.
The Dons received an additional £1m when McKenna helped Forest win promotion to the English Premier League last month.
The deal would also be highest fee paid for a Scottish teenager with Ryan Gauld’s £3m move from Dundee United to Sporting Lisbon in 2014 the current record.
It is understood Ramsay will now travel to England for a medical with the deal expected to be concluded over the next few days.
It has been reported that Ramsay has already agreed personal terms on a deal until June 2027.
Ramsay was named Scottish Football Writers’ Association Young Player of the Year following a superb breakthrough season at Pittodrie.
He contributed nine assists in 33 appearances which saw him linked with several clubs, including Liverpool, Leeds United and Serie A side Bologna.
The Italian side lodged a bid to sign Ramsay during the January transfer window.
They submitted a club record bid for the player on the basis of loaning the Scot until the end of the season and only completing the deal if they avoided relegation from Serie A, which was rejected by the Dons.
